Hi JaRylan sent me, as things are quite busy in her life right now, and I would not buy a carseat without her. lol!!! I am in need of quick help! My 7.5 month old daughter has outgrown herbucket carseat and we need a new one this week. It needs to fit in the center of a 2007 Ford Focus wagon and be rear facing for a few more months (obviously). We are thinking of having another child in around 2 years or so and could either go with a seat that would be passed on for the infant, or one that grows with a child. I would really appreciate what are some good options for Canada car seats (safety, price and comfort). any and all comments are appreciated so we know our options thta work for our vehicle. thanks kindly!!

Are you wanting another infant seat? If so, I believe your only option would be a Graco SafeSeat 1.

For a convertible, a Sunshine Kids Radian fits beautifully back there. A Britax Marathon will also fit wonderfully.

Both seats harness to 30lbs rearfacing and then 65lbs forward facing.

A few stores are still selling the Radians (Canadian Tire) and Marathons with 48lbs forward facing limits.

The Radian will give you approximately 1 - 2 more inches of torso growth over the Marathon.

Both have the ability to tether rearfacing, which is a big plus in my book.

The Marathon (6 year expiry date) should last somewhere up to the age of 4 - 6 years old. The Radian (8 year expiry date) will last somewhere between 6 - 8 years old.

You can't go wrong with either of those seats.

With winter coming up, and if you don't want to lose the convenience of the infant bucket seat, you can opt for the Graco SafeSeat1. It goes up to 30lbs rearfacing and will last most kids until somewhere between 18 months - 2 years old... so you could have the convenience of the bucket seat for another of our cold winters. ;) Sears will sell that one as well as some baby specialty stores.

Edited to add: My 2.5 year old is still comfortably rearfacing in a Radian... so you've got quite a bit more time before you'll actually want to turn your baby around. Rearfacing is much safer, especially for kids under 2 years old. An under 2 year old child is 4 - 5 times more likely to be injured if they are forward facing.
