Ok, so I've mentioned my friend who is using a 10y/o seat and refuses to get a new one, well another friend of ours and I were talking, and her DD's b-day is coming up, so... we're going to go in on it (a bunch of us from church) and get her one, as long as she says it's ok, and she knows that it'll shut us up, so hopefully she says we can do it.

That would be great if she'd do that. Is she just not wanting to spend the money, or will she be offended that someone else is going to buy something she should be buying and make the purchase herself?
Either way, cheers to getting another old and dangerous seat off the streets. (Make sure you personally take possession of the old seat, otherwise she might still use it. All fire halls in Edmonton and surrounding areas will take old seats and dispose of them properly. If she's reluctant to part with it, you can always tell her you're donating it to the local program... we have enough seats for the training program in the city at present, but if they needed more seats they'd take them from the fire halls. ;))

she claims they don't have the $$ to buy a new seat, and we're doing the b-day present thing so that her DH doesn't get offended that theyr'e just being given a new seat. He'd take it as us saying that he's a bad father, and already thinks me and the lady who's going to help me organise the ppl to get it are loudmouths and isn't too fond of us.
