I usually install with latch...but will be installing Roundabout in a middle seat with lapbelt. The buckle part of the seat belt does not go into the seat path. It lays against the side of the car seat, right after it comes out the the belt path. Does that make sense?
Is this ok? If not, I could probably twist the stalk to keep it off of the seat.

It's fine, as long as you can get a tight enough install (less that 1" of movement in any direction at the beltpath) and as long as the whole buckle is either completely in or out of the belt path. You'll need to adjust it if it's partially in the beltpath in such a way that the edge of the shell is pushing against either part of the buckle. I prefer them to be completely out. That's what my instructors preferred and taught. Plus, it gives you visual confirmation that there aren't any issues and won't bother the child if the beltpath is directly below the cover (like in the RA you will be installing).
