We are about to make the move to RF/FF Car Seats for our twin boys currently 17lbs and 27" (7months old).

Looking at the choices out there we had originally narrowed down our choices to the Radian Premiere, The Eddie Bauer Montecito 3 in 1 and The Britax Decathalon/Blvd.

Our main areas of concern are:

Positive Reviews/Real User Feedback
RF Fitting behind Passenger and Driver Outbound Seats.
Longevity
Comfort
Style (I admit... I hate that there are no cool looking Car Seats in Canada!)

Not that concerned with price... at the end of the day, saving $50-$100 for my child's safety is not something I care to do... so if it's pricey, so be it.

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Side Note: Does anyone know of a Tech that is in Calgary, who can check the install on car seats once we decide? The police/fire here dont do it anymore!

I am a tech in Calgary. PM me and we'll meet up to do a seat check. ;) :)

Depending on how they fit in your Pathfinder, I would go with either the Britax Marathon or the Sunshine Kids Radian.

From what I remember of the Pathfinder, it doesn't have that big of a backseat... chances are the Radian may be too long to go RFing. Which means the Britax Marathon would be a great option for you.

The Britax Decathlon/Boulevard are not available in Canada.

If you'd like to do a try before you buy, I have both the Radian and the Marathon... we can meet up and test them in your vehicle or you can go to a store and do the same thing.

I would completely skip the 3 in 1 seats... they definitely do not have longevity in mind. Most kids outgrow the harness on them at 2.5 years old and a 2.5 year old can NOT be in a booster... it's just not safe.

Edited to add: You can also e-mail me at <djgies@telus.net>

Unless the Pathfinders have gotten smaller, the backseat of ours seems huge (ours is a 1995). A RFing Marathon would fit in any of the seat positions no problems. Our Graco SafeSeat infant seat fits with tons of room to spare.

I think the Marathon sounds like a great option - I'm not sure what covers are available to you, but it's a pretty nice looking seat, so comfortable, and will last a long, long time. :)
