Okay so ds1 has been complaining about the built-in car seat hurting his butt. So I put him in the FPSVD until his Apex arrives next week. I put ds2 back in the Comfortsport. I just need it checked out to make sure it is okay. Here is the confortsport...

Also the straps are through the middle slot and are at ds2 sholders however when he is strapped in it looks like they are a little above his shoulders. WDYT? Should I move the straps back tot he bottom? Here are pics.. (The shopulder pads stay b/c the straps cut into his neck. Alspo ignore the chestclip height, I took this pic just so you could see what I was talking about. I know where the clip should be. :) )

Okay and the last question... I have never delt witht he v-shape tether. I have it under the headrest b/c it doesnt fit right going with the headrest between it. But even that doesnt look right. Should I remove the headrest, or is the thether ok like this?

Okay I think that may be it. I am sure I may have more when the APex comes.
thanks

The angle looks fine.
I'd lower the harness on the comfort sport.
I really don't like the aftermarket shpoulder pads. You could try to always make sure you have his shirt between the harness and his skin. or you can cut the toes off a pair of socks as a fix for that. They will keep it from cutting in as much, but won't interfere with getting it tight enough or have potential compression issues.
There was a poll on headrests and v-shaped tethers a little while ago, but I don't think there was a consensus. What does your vehicle owner's manual say about going over vs under? I think removing it if possible is a good solution.

I'd say those straps are 'at' his shoulders. If you put them lower, you risk them slipping off his shoulders, and add to the possibility of him flying sideways out of the seat in a side crash or slamming harder into the seatback in a rear crash, so I'd leave them. Graco sells approved aftermarket crash tested harness pads, I'd use those, if I really felt the need to...
I'd take the headrest out, I don't like tether straps that bend to get through or around headrests, really... :)

I will look in the manual. I may just take off the headrest.

Thank you. Yeah I looked and the next slot down is at the top of his hip. So it would be really far down.
I will leave them.

THANKS!
