So I drive a 2007 Dodge Caravan and need to know the weight limit for tethering. I cant find it in the manual.
Also my friend drives a 2007 Mazda 5 and needs to know the tethering weight limit on that.
Thanks for anyone who can help

The LATCH manual specifies a child weight limit of 48 lbs. for the lower LATCH anchors and the top tether anchor in Dodge vehicles, and Mazda does not specify a maximum child weight.
Safe Ride News recommends continuing to use the top tether anchor (not the lower anchors, but the top tether anchor) beyond a vehicle manufacturer's stated limit because the overall benefits of top tethering are that significant. Here are two links with a detailed explanation of the recommendation: http://www.saferidenews.com/html/LATCH_P49.htm and http://www.saferidenews.com/html/LATCH_P8.htm

Thanks... I meant the LATCH not the tether. LOL.
Ds has a while yet to go. He is only 38.5 lbs. But my friend was told 66lbs and she plans on buying a Regent when soon for her dd.
Thank you very very much

Which seat is she planning to install the Regent in?
I was unable to install a Husky (older model of the Regent) with the recline bar in the third row of my '07 Mazda 5. Wait, let me re-phrase that - me, another tech, and our very car-seat experienced friend were unable to install it in the third row! :D
We got it in the center row, though.

Just follow the carseat manual... they say that if the car manual doesn't specify, assume a 48 pound limit for the lower anchors.
