I just got my Marathon and I need to know if this angle is ok or not. It just doesn't look right to me, should I put something under the base? Other than the angle it seems ok, what do you think? Oh, and also, does it need to be tethered? Thanks!

How old is the child in it?
I would definitely use the RFing tether... it's one of the great benefits of this seat! :)
I would put a little more pressure at the front of the seat (where babies legs are) when tightening up the seatbelt. That will keep the base completely flush with the vehicle seat.
Then attach the RFing tether and use that to adjust the angle of the seat.

My DD is 11months and 17lbs. I'll try putting more weight on it when tightening the seat, but I was kneeling right in it when I installed it!! I'll try though. Thanks!
And about tethering, what is the best place to attach it to? I don't have any experience with tethering, and the manual doesn't have a whole lot of info either....

When putting your hand near the beltpath and trying to move the seat side to side, does it move less than an inch?
Another trick, is to slightly recline vehicle seat (if possible), then after the carseat is installed move the seat back upright again. It makes for a nice solid install

Since it's in the passenger side captain's chair, you will be looking under the passenger front seat for an immoveable metal object that is bolted to the floor.
You wrap the d-ring that came with your seat around a seatbelt stalk OR the front seat track leg OR any other object that is bolted to the floor. Then you attach the tether to the d-ring and tighten up the slack.
If you can take a picture underneath the front passenger seat, we can help you to find a good spot for your d-ring.
You can get a more upright install of your seat by pulling it slightly away from the vehicle seatbight (where the back and bum meet) and make sure you are leaning on the seat by where babies legs/feet go... not where their bum goes.
The angle you have looks fine for an 11 month old.
