Need help with this question..

A friend has asked about installing a carseat in a 2004 Chevy Colorado Extended Cab. The seats are similar to jump seats and it is not a full seat back. http://www.chevrolet.com/colorado/gallery/gallery15.htm

She has a infant rear facing and a toddler front facing. My concern is the fact that the seat back is not a full seat back and I wonder if it is a safe install. They don't want the crew cab with three full seats across the back because the thruck bed is smaller by 11 inches.

Anyone have any opinions or advice?

Always check the manual! Barring special limitations there, it is usually OK to install a child restraint on a seat as long as the seat faces the front of the vehicle (no child restraint can be used on a side- or rear- facing jump seat) and at least 80% of the child restraint's base is on the vehicle seat. If both of these criteria are met, it is usually ok to install the seat there.

Thanks! She went back and looked at it again and her sons RA would not fit so they ended up with a different truck.
