I'm in the US, so pardon me if my info is all wrong! But I think all Canadian car seats are required to be used with a tether, is that right? Are cars sold in Canada required to allow tethering to 65 pounds, or how does that work?
I know some car makers in the U.S. say their tether is only good to 40 pounds, or 48. So I just wondered how that works in Canada, now that y'all finally have 65-pound-weight-limit seats, and required tethering.

The working out of tether weights was apparently part of the hold up with the new weight requirements. Our vehicles are the same here in CAnada as the US I'm sure, but from what we were told in our tech course, the TA's are already tested at a minimum of 70lbs. There's also supposed to be new legislation that will come into effect requiring manufacturers to rate their lower anchors and tether anchors to the higher weight. I'm not sure what model year that will come into effect though...
I don't really have any knowledge beyond what we were taught in our tech course though.
