Lately, I've been trying to deal with the clutter permanently installed in my car. I also had dd who needed a boost up to her Regent. Her shoes were always stepping on the edge of that Madison pattern. It's starting to show a little :(

Anyway, I began to think about what would work in the center part of the Camry. I needed something not hard, small, and unmoving that would stay atop the 'hump'.

I found this Small Rattan Box (http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=pd_luc_14_lc_a14025901x33_r3c1_a1_txt/601-8017725-4557758?ie=UTF8&shuc=hucrvi1txt&asin=B000IO5B52) at Target.com for $18.00

It arrived today all folded up in this tiny package. It opens up and fits perfectly!! It's wedged in there, does not move unless I shove it hard sideways. Fits below the car's seat cushion. I think it would work for an Accord or Passat in the center spot too. Oh, I can't use the cupholders on that side, but whoopee  :p DD always smacked them with her feet anyway. ;)

7 1/2 H X 9 1/4" along the handle area X 10 1/4" deep.
Made out of Cotton, Polyester, and Paper. The cover is Polypropylene and the handles soft PVC. It's 'recyclable'

It looks tiny, but it fits the Ergo, a Lands End Jacket, DD's poncho, and a couple of her books. before the lid is pushed down. All I have now is the folded blanket I use to cover the seat when the sun is strong. I feel so tidy now.

DD went out and tested it as a step and foot rest. She LOVES it! No more dangling legs. She looks so grown up. She just suffered through a round of photos yesterday, so I'll hold off for a little while :)

If anyone's interested, I had also considered the Rattan Drawer (http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=pd_ecc_rvi_1/601-8017725-4557758?ie=UTF8&asin=B000IO3M3K)

I love your idea! It's so.....practical, yet stylish! I saw those "recyclable" boxes at Target today while shopping. Very good use you found for them! We use an upside-down reading pillow in the footwell of the passenger side- it isn't the greatest "step" (smush) but it catches all the stuff she drops and she just picks it up with her feet, LOL! We actually used the Evenflo Triumph Advance on our 6 hr each way vacation and she was SOOOOOOO comfortable- she actually slept with her head in the perfect position and while awake did not complain about her legs- 'cuz we didn't bring the pillow.
