Why don't people listen??!!?!?!

Someone just posted a little while ago on a local freecycle list offering 2 10 year+ old car seats. I e-mailed her, said I was sure she didn't know about car seats expiring, yada yada, and encouraged her to verify the info I was giving her by calling the manufacturer. I also posted yet another 'reminder' on the list itself about NOT passing along expired seats, how to check if it's expired, etc. I got an e-mail back from her thanking me for the info...and then she went on to say that someone wants them even though she told them the info I gave her so she's going ahead and passing them along. AAAAHHHHH!!!! So frustrating. This person is a mom, and she is passing these along even though the seats may be unsafe. And someone is accepting the seats presumably to use for their children/grandchildren, even though they know they may be unsafe.

Just request the seat for yourself. They destroy. So much easier.

Yep, I just snag all the used seats myself & destroy (or use for educational purposes only) -- I also do post basic crash facts along with the Used Seat Checklist & the expired carseat crash test link where the dummy is ejected + the toll free tech finder 1.866.SEATCHECK

I work full-time and I just don't have the time to run all over and pick up seats, unfortunately. So informing the poster and sending a group posting out is the best I can do.

And can you post the used seat checklist??
