Do you think they will hassle me about Evan being rfing on the plane next month? He's almost 3, but only 25# and easily passes for MUCH younger. lol I was going to put him rfing in his Scenera b/c he's going to be sitting alone across the aisle from me (there's only 3 seats across the whole plane) and I dind't want him kicking the people in front of him. I had someone try to tell me to turn him ffing when he was only 10mos old and 16# so I'm not real fond of FAs and their carseat 'knowledge'. Any other suggestions? I'm thinking Evan is the best to be across me from me, the other option is AJ who probably won't be in his carseat or Ilana in her Safeseat.

I would print off the FAA's policy, which states proper use of the CSR. They can't force you to FF if you have the proof that it is allowed by the FAA to RF so long as you are using your seat within it's specs.

I would print off the FAA recommendations to have with you as far as the rfing goes.
You say you plan on having him sit across the aisle from you. Most airlines will require a child in a carseat to sit at a window. This has been my experience when flying. The reason is that if something were to happen and the passengers needed to get out it would be very difficult to get around a CR blocking access to the aisle. I recommend calling the airline on the seating location. ;) I have always been required to put DD in the window seat.

I believe the OP's child will be on the window, and that it is a small plane with 1 seat on one side of the aisle and 2 seats on the other, so I believe OP is in an aisle seat on the 2 seat side, and her child is in the window seat on the side that only has 1 seat between the window and the aisle.
In my experience some flight attendants ask you to turn them FF, and some do not. It has been about 50% of the time I've been asked to turn my son. Each time I refused and pointed out that he was properly restrained according to the manufactures limits.
I don't have the link, but there is also an FAA Advisory Circular from Dec 2006. I've posted the link on this board before, so you can try to do a search for it. It clearly states in I think Paragraph 18 that the seat should be used according the manufacturers limits. Print that and show it to the Flight attendant if she asks you to turn your child around.

Thanks, Natalie I'll look for that info. That's what I was afraid of is older FAA stuff states that you only rf on the plane to 20#. This was even taught in our latest CPST class here. :(
Yes, there are 2 seats on one side and 1 on the other. Tiny plane, but for the price I'll take it! ;)

You are welcome. I'm home now, so in case you didn't find it, here is the link:

You want to look at paragraph 18.
