New side tests of large luxury cars: luxury doesn't always buy safety

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has released the results of side impact crash tests of large luxury cars. One of the least expensive models tested in this category of vehicles, a Kia Amanti, was among the better performers in side impact testing, while one of the most expensive models, a 2008 BMW 5 Series, earned a marginal rating for side impacts.
