Is there a safe way to protect seats w/out interfering with installation?

We just took delivery of our '07 Sienna, and we want to protect the cloth seats, more from spills than from damage from the car seats.

Is there a safe way to do this? Any seat protector that is recommended?

really the only safe thing is thin very thin towls, or that shelf linner stuff that is thin ... of course it's better to use nothing, but ya know! :)
The worse thing to use are things that are made for this purpose like the sunshine kids seat protectores ect, but they are useally very thick like up to 1" and will cause installation issues ect. HTH
