Does any one have any suggestions for tether locations on an '03 Explorer Ltd.? I have my Britax BV installed RF behind the drivers seat. I currently have the tether attached under the bench seat (seat the carseat is on). I had a CPS tech check the seat and was told that that was an approved location for the tether. However, I've just found a few posts on this site stating that this is not approved by Britax. I did not attach to the drivers seat as it automatically moves backwards/forwards when you insert/take out keys to drive.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Can you put it behind the front passenger seat to attach the D-ring on that seat's inner leg?

This is not a very clear picture, but this is a BV installed in an '02 Explorer limited. It is tethered to the passenger seat track.

So it's ok so stretch the tether across to the passenger side and have it at an angle? Or, are you suggesting I move the seat behind the passenger seat?
Also, I notice you have a center install in your Explorer. I have not been able to get at good install in the center, hence the reason I have it outboard. The BV is wider than the center seat and sits on top of the seat belt latch. I couldn't get it to move less than an inch so put it outboard.

YOu can do it either way.
I installed the seat in the center and tethered to the closest seat track. The tether is really only at a slight angle (within the allowed limits).

Do you have any suggestions on getting a good center install? I haven't been able to get the seat to move less than one inch. The CPS tech also tried and suggested we leave it outboard. I would much rather have in the center if I can get that to work. It seems that the BV is wider than the seat and so sits on top of the seatbelt latch stopping me from getting the belt tight enough.

I pulled the belt all the way out (to engage the locking mechanism), installed the seat, then pushed it down REALLY REALLY hard (you can somewhat ssee how far into the seat the base is pushing!) while pulling on the belt to get it to "click" down as it got tighter and tighter. It was rock-solid by the time I finished.
It was a bit tough to buckle the seat since the female end of the buckle is buried and FIXED below the seat, but I got it to work.
If you can't get a good installation in teh center, though, installing outboard is fine. :)

Thanks for the hints. I'll give it a try, fingers crossed I can make it work in the center.
Appreciate all the advice!
