Anyone know how safe a Ford Edge is?

IIHS gives it top ratings for offset frontal and side impact.

NHTSA give it 5 stars (best) for side impact, and 5 stars frontal for driver, 4 stars frontal for passenger.

overall, pretty good!

Being that Ford and Volvo merged, I'd have to say any Ford vehicle is super safe. The Edge is obviously a bigger vehicle than a Focus but this is pure proof of their safety...

A friend of mine had a newer Ford Focus and was driving along a road that does not have a divider between the opposing lanes and was doing about 50-55 mph...which is also the speed the tandum truck on the opposing lane was doing when the truck crossed the line and hit our friend HEAD ON. He survived with injuries of a broken femur (ok so that's not minor) and a few cracked ribs. But for two vehicles, both doing 50mph at least to hit head on, especially one being a huge truck, that's pretty darn amazing. Of course you don't even want to know what the Focus looked like. Oh and he bought another Focus too :)
