I've gotten myself into a mess here and desperately need help! My nearly 6 month old son is moving into my 3 1/2 year old daughter's Britax Marathon seat and she is moving into a Safety 1st Apex 65 booster. Here's my problem: I just repositioned the harness and switched the latch anchors so they will work rear-facing again on the Britax and when I picked the seat up to take back out to the car, I saw an extra piece sitting on the floor. Gulp! It's a black strap with a loop at one end and a gold buckle-like attachment on the other end. I'm assuming it goes with the Britax because the information on the label that's attached (lot number, manufacture date, etc.) is similar to the info on the other straps for that seat....but the color of the strap matches the new Safety 1st seat! Does anybody know what this is? I've pored through the both manuals and can't find a description of what it could be. I'd upload a picture, but I don't think I can post attachments here (but would be happy to email to someone). Since Britax is closed until Monday, I'd really love any help you can give me. Thanks so much!

It sounds like its the piece you use tie down to an anchor(either on the floor or to the bottom of a front seat) when RF. We have ours wrapped around our front seat at the floor and then the strap at the top of the carseat with the hook attatches to that. Does that make sense? If not let me know.

Sounds like it is the D-ring Tether Connector Strap (http://carseats.babycatalog.com/infant-to-toddler-convertible-car-seats/d-ring-tether-connector-strap-02065) that goes with the Britax.

Just curious too, is your DS moving into the booster portion of the Apex or are you keeping her harnessed? Just wondering because of the way your post was worded. :)

Its called a D-ring. Look on page 25 of your Britax manual to see if this is what you have. If that is not the page look up the versa tether section of your manual

That's what I said in the PP and I posted her a link with a pic. ;)

Thanks so much everybody for your help! (I originally asked for your help as an unregistered user, but now I registered as "ewains".) The missing piece IS the D-ring for the tether strap! Thanks so much for helping me. I was afraid to use the seat again until I knew what it was. My manual doesn't have a picture of the piece so I was stumped! And to answer the question about my 3 1/2 year old daughter's new Safety 1st Apex booster, it does have a 5 point harness and we plan on using that for as long as possible before using it as a belt positioner. She's only 34 pounds so she's got plenty of growing to do before removing the harness. Again, thanks so much for your help - this is a great forum.
