hi, we are looking for a used car, I was hoping for maybe a 2004 coming off lease. (not definite though)

My local Honda dealer claims that center LATCH is available for 2003 Accord/Civic and after - obviously many here think otherwise! Is it possible that this was added after original manufacture? Or is he just hoping I won't realize that there are 2 outboards really?

Seat is Britax Marathon, child is 30 lbs at moment.

Thanks!

Dealer is, as my husband would say, "Smoking crack." ;)

Neither the Accord nor the Civic have center LATCH in any model year. Newer versions of both vehicles have outboard LATCH plus top tether anchors in the center, but Honda does not allow use of outboard anchors to secure a child restraint in the center seating position.

Definitely not true. Ask him to show you in the owner's manual;-)

Definitely not.

My mom has a 2003 Accord. There is definitely not LATCH in the center. The outboard LATCH, though, is great. :)

There's a top tether anchor in the center, maybe he thinks that's 'latch'? At any rate, a center install of an MA with the seatbelt and top tether should be easy :)

I have a brand-spankin' new '07 Civic. There is definitely NO LATCH in the center. Dealer is full of crap, either misinformed or trying to make a sale.
