We're leaving on a 4 hour trip Wednesday morning. I have to go out and reinstall the Regent anyway because of the changes, but I wonder if I should just put the Marathon there instead for the trip.

What do you think? I think the Regent is comfier for her legs but she has better head sleeping support in the Marathon.

I vote the Regent.... you can always roll a blankie, towel+pillowcase, or a soft toy for a pillow, but it's virtually impossible to soothe leg problems unless you take lots of breaks.

I agree. I would have said the MA until last night when I saw DS sitting cross legged with his head laid over onto the side of the Regent and he looked super relaxed and comfy.

Okay, went with the Regent and I'll bring a little pillow for her to use if she gets tired. :) I forget that she is almost 4 and now a baby about that stuff anymore. She can tell me if she wants a pillow for sleeping.

We took a LONG trip this spring ( almost 24 hrs - from eastern WI to the Black Hills in SD ) and I put my 4 yr old back in the MA for the trip. I was SO glad I did! She really liked sitting up higher and being able to see the scenery. I think it also supports her better for sleeping.

Well I just asked her which seat she would rather ride in. She wants to go in the Marathon and she wants to be backwards.

What was that about older kids not wanting to ride rear-facing??

She's right at 33 pounds by the end of most days but is usually 32 pounds in the morning. We're going to be away in the mountains for about a week and I don't think I want to bring my scale to make sure she can ride RF. She'll just have to tolerate FF!

Hmm, I'd be tempted to bring both seats then I could just switch them around if she isn't comfy in one or the other. I don't know if I'd be able to fit the stroller in the back with all three seats in the car, though. :(

What you really need is the new Recaro so you can rear face her for a couple of more lbs! ;)

Seriously!!! She's gaining so slowly now too.

I think DH might have a heart attack if I buy another new car seat, though.

Ummm, yeah. Especially after the whole Shannon Regent and matching BV purchases? LOL

*ahem* Exactly.

I don't even have the stupid BV right now. :( The replacement is coming on Friday and I won't be home until Sunday.
