I need to buy something to calm myself down after the whole Britax fiasco. We live in upstate NY and tho we try to warm up the car and not wear coats sometimes you just gotta. Any opinions on warmest/thinnest jacket for kids?
I was thinking Lands End fleece? LL Bean? Hanna? Columbia? Patagonia?

Why not blankets? My son LOVES a blanket in the car as then he can even hide under it. Just a thought.

I think fleece is the thinnest. We have a Columbia or a Patagonia fleece, can't remember, for DD1 that she wears in her carseat, it's pretty thin but very warm. I actually had bought a beautiful Hanna jacket for her last winter and it never got used because it was still just too bulky to go in the carseat with, IMO anyway.

When it's not freezing we use blankets and put their coats on backwards but, when you've been in the mall for 4 hours, it's 12 degrees out and you bring the kids out to the car ~ A blanket just won't cut it. The car seat itself is usually still cold when we get home ~ a 15 minute drive! I'm perfectly comfortable with fleece. I don't need to adjust the harness so I don't worry about compression.

Oh sorry, I'm only talking fleece here. I typed it weird. My brain is jumbled from Britax. :p Was the Hanna jacket the one with the crazy colors/polka dots/floral? It came in a tourquoise and raspberry? My dd wanted that so bad.

Land's End Marinac Fleece jackets....love them! They really cut the wind well and are super warm. My kids wear them all winter and rarely need another jacket over it unless it's below 0.

Yep, that's the jacket! So pretty, but I would have to adjust her harness to have her wear it in the car seat. :( Since i feel safe with the fleece jacket, that's the one I ended up putting on her almost every day. The Hanna rarely got used. :crying:
