You can preorder Recaro seats at elitecarseats

Looks like they added the new Recaro seats...for the cheaper prices. If you were to preorder it, wouldn't they have to give you the advertised lower price?

I'd say they'd have to honor what you contracted at, but they could always have an "We're sorry, but...." clause for price adjustment.

BUT with Elitecarseats, there's that nice little option of around $2-3 for return shipping insurance. It's almost worth ordering one just to test it out & take photos :D I might just do that, even though we had to get a Regent ;)

That's the reason I haven't pre ordered a Recaro.. I would either be out the down payment or return shipping neither of which I could afford.

But if I could pre order and not be out any money if I had to return them, I would go for it.

With the weirdness about the Regent's long belt path install for kids over 40 pounds, it makes me nervous to use the Husky with long belt path. so I'm considering all harnessed options with 19 inch top slots; the Safeguard and Recaro seem to be it. $430 for a Safeguard just isn't going to happen. :rolleyes: So I really hope the Recaro has 19 inch top slots, and I really hope it fits like it has 19 inch top slots. And I hope I can deal with the big base. Gah, I hate the lack of choices for big kids.

I called Elite Car Seat and got some answers. They said that the price would not change, so you can lock in the lower price. They will charge the CC only when the order ships. You can cancel the order at any time as long as it is still in a "backorder" status. If you get the return shipping insurance you have 30 days to return and they will send you a fedex return shipping label but you must have all of the original packing material.

I decided to place the order. I figured I have at least 2 months to cancel if I need to. :thumbsup:

Alright I'm doing it! If they won't charge it until it gets in we're good to go. I might go pick it up at the warehouse, but I'll buy the shipping insurance so I don't have to bring it back. Hopefully I'll be able to get on and post oodles of pictures when I get it. I think this will be DS's car seat unless for some reason we don't like it.

Okay, I'm going to talk to the one with the credit card and hopefully get this ordered ASAP... so that with any luck we'll have these new seats by September.

It appears elitecarseats was selling the seat under the MAP contracted price they had with Recaro.

All of the Recaro Retailers (me included) have to sell the seats for the same price.
