I have a '98 Dodge Durango that doesn't have LATCH or tethers. A retrofit kit for tethers is available and from what I understand from my local dealer it would cost about $75 to put one in each of the outboard seating positions of the second row. I don't know if I can put them in the third row or not. My own children are out of CR's and BSB's (they're 11 and 13) but I'm a family child care provider that has anywhere from 1-5 children in my car between 1yr-10yrs. I also just got my CPST certification last week. :) I'd like to go ahead and get the tether kits for at least the two seats. Does anyone know if I can get additional kits for the third row? Who has installed the kits themselves? Is it hard to do? I'm pretty handy with a wrench. :) I also need to "justify the expense" to my dh. Right now I only have one seat that would use the tether anyway (other child is 13mo in a RF convertable). So actually I guess I'd really only need one now. So any experience? Thanx

LATCH Manual, page 164: "Tether Anchor installation program: DaimlerChrysler dealers will install tether anchors in certain older model year Chrysler Group vehicles free of charge. Please have the dealer refer to Technical Serice Bulletin 23-08-00 Rev. A for details on this policy."

I don't see any information on the 3rd row for that vehicle.

Thanx for the info. I have to take the Durango to the dealer Saturday for something else, so I'll ask them about it then.

Good news!!! I asked at Dodge today while I had my Durango in there for some minor work and they're ordering me TWO tether kits and installing them both FREE!!! They call me in about 10 days when they come in. YEAH! So I'll at least have tethers in the two outboard seats of the second row. I'm a happy camper! :)

Woohoo! So glad they're doing both for free! :D
