Can someone explain how to get top teathers installed in this vehicle? I called the dealership and they are clueless.
This is my parents vehicle. I only occassionally have to install seats in it, but would like them to be as secure as possible.
Dad is a "car guy" so I'm sure he could install them if we can get the parts and directions.
Thanks!

From the LATCH manual, page 149:-Tether anchor kits: Most General Motors vehicles manufactured in or after 1989 are tether-compatible. GM part numbers for retrofit kits are not included in this manual as part numbers change frequently. General Motors' dealerships have an up-to-date list of the specific part numbers.
-Tether anchor retrofit program: General Motors will provide and install free of charge one Child Restraint (CR) Top Tether Hardware Package for anchoring in most 1989 and later vehicles. The free installation must be for a forward-facing CR in one rear-seat seating position. (See Service Bulletin, page 133.)
The page lists only two exceptions for which tether anchors are not available: Camaro (pre-1993) and Corvette. The service bulletin is actually on page 129. It is Service Bulletin #99-09-40-004 (January 2000). The dealership should be able to access this on their own. If not, someone here might be able to scan it and e-mail it to you (I don't have a scanner).

Thank you...thank you
Now that I have the bulletin # maybe I can get somewhere with the dealership. And that they install it for free is even better!

Good luck. you may have to really push the issue - my local dealership claims to have NEVER heard of retrofitting a tether anchor before I had mine done recently. If I had been the average parent I'd have given up. :(
