Hi,
We are getting the Recaro Young Sport for our daughter. But we need top teather anchors in our cars. Can someone who knows this stuff tell me if our cars even have a place where a top teather anchor can be installed? We have three different cars that the seats might go into, all Volvos.

'93 240 wagon
'95 850 wagon
Can someone give me some information to start with?? Must a Volvo dealer install them? If so, will they charge for it? If not, are there parts that I can install myself? Can any of these cars be LATCH retrofitted?
Thanks!

Lower anchors (the "LA" in LATCH) cannot be retrofitted in Volvos, but top tether anchors (the "T" in LATCH) can be installed according to the LATCH manual, which lists the following Volvo part numbers for top tether anchor retrofits:
'89 700 Series wagon:
Center and outboard part number 6812131
Notes: (3) 8 mm weld nuts: outboard weld nuts are located on back of vehicle seats; center is in cargo area floor. Remove plastic screw in weld nut. Part name: "Tether Hook Kit."
'93 240 wagon:
Center and outboard part number 3525051-3
Notes: (3) tether anchor points on back of seat. Part name: "Tether Hook Kit."
'95 850 wagon:
Center and outboard part number 9136928-0
Notes: (3) tether anchor points on back of seat. Part name: "Tether Hook Kit."
The Volvo section of the LATCH manual also says: Although the tether retrofit part name is "Tether Hook" for many vehicles, the kit is a Tether Anchor Retrofit Kit, and the "hook" is actually the tether bracket.
I don't see a reference to a specific Volvo service bulletin or any hint of the cost involved through the dealership in the LATCH manual. I imagine if you're handy and have the right wrench, you could obtain the tether anchor retrofit kits from the Volvo dealer, and DIY for the installation. Hope this helps you out. :)

Thanks for the part numbers!!
I contacted a local Volvo dealership, had the parts ordered, drop-shipped to me, and installed them last night.
Today was the first ride in the new, FF car seat! And she seemed to really like it. Was pointing at things in front, smiling, having fun, and 10 minutes later, was fast asleep. I don't think I could have asked for anything better... :)

The daughter is 21-22 months old now. In April she was 19 months and 18.5 pounds, so she's about 21-22 months now, and maybe 20-22 pounds, I'm guessing?
