Okay, so I just went to a local tech (police officer) to get my mom's Scenera reinstalled correctly, and had him check my Marathon as well. Dd is 20 months (outboard, drivers side) and he put her seat at a full 45 degree recline, which she complained about the whole way home, and it puts my face about 1 foot from the steering wheel. Plus, he put the harness through the bottom slots, while the second-to-bottom are closest to her shoulders.

Can someone give me VERY explicit instructions on how to un-recline the seat (up to 30 degrees) and re-tether it? It's under my seat, and they said not to move my seat, but I'd rather not be right on top of the windshield. I've got my manual but dh has always done our installs, so I've not really messed with the seat much and might not have all the names of the parts of the seat right.
TIA!

ok well when rfing it doesnt matter which slot is closest...its just whatever is at or below. so if she is still below the second slot, then the harness should be in the first slot, regarless if shes closer to the second.

as far as getting it more upright without uninstalling...i dont know if thats possible...you could try loosening the tether, retightening either the latch or the seatbelt, whichever you used, and then adjusting your tether again until youre comfortable with the recline....

A good tech should always help you learn how to do it yourself. Both you and DH should be able to move the seats around if you have to.

The only way I was ever able to fix the recline is to uninstall my seat.

How is it installed? Lap belt? Shoulder belt? LATCH?
