Okay, I have a few questions..

My daughter has a brand new Britax Regent. I LOVE it.. with an exception of a few things... well, it may just be me doing something wrong.

Okay, first off... is it absolutely necessary to use the recline bar? It seems to be more of a hassle than a help..

Secondly, My car has the LATCH. So, it's easy to install. BUT, my friend took my girls today, and I had THE hardest time switching over the car seat. It seemed as if the seat belt was WAYYYY too short. I couldn't even reach it to the buckle. Am I doing something wrong? Or could it possible be just THAT short?

I am VERY pleased with this seat, overall. Although, I had NO idea it was so bulky! I recently got hit and my van was totaled, so we are down to 1 car (our second car- a Suzuki Aerio). The Aerio is so small, I'm not sure if I can fit the Regent and the Marathon that I just ordered for my 14 month old.

Congrats on your new seat! :D

The recline bar is required for a LATCH install, and for a lapbelt-only install, and for any install that is not tethered. It can definitely take some getting used to. When installed properly the recline bar will be pushing upward into the vehicle seatback.

If you can, try installing with the vehicle seatback reclined a notch or two, then once you have it installed raise the vehicle seat back upright (you'll have to really push or pull to get it back upright).

Are you using the long belt path? That could be why the belt seems to short. Try the short belt path if the long belt path won't work. If you do long belt path and have it tethered you do not need the recline bar.

You should be able to fit it in the Aerio even with a Marathon, but will not be able to fit anything in the center.

okay, well, can someone post a picture of how the recline bar is supposed to look?? I am not understanding it...

I guess I was using the long belt path. I read the manual and that seamed to be the only seat belt option... I guess I didn't read hard enough

I use LATCH and tether in my Aerio. So, do I need the recline bar then?
(this was for a friends car- that was babysitting)
