Moving carseats from a 2000 Blazer (no latch, just buckled/tethered seats) to 2007 Nissan Quest, which I know has LATCH. I've never used a LATCH system, but have a general idea of how it works.
So to my question: Do I need to LATCH, buckle, and tether? If not, which combo of those is recommended?

No you don't use LATCH and buckle at the same time. They both do the same thing, it is just that LATCH is supposed to make it easier then a seatbelt to install a carseat but that isn't always the case. Use whatever is easier between the seatbelt and the LATCH and for a FF seat you should always use the top tether. So you should use LATCH or seatbelt with the top tether.

By "buckle" I assume you mean the seatbelt, if so the simple answer is no. You can use the seatbelt and the top tether together, OR the lower anchors and top tether but you must never use the seatbelt and lower anchors at the same time.

Thank you so much! I vaguely remember reading something about not using both system (belt and LATCH), and I need to sit down and read the maual, but needed a quick confirmation.
