Amusement parks ( I didn't put it in the title, so that luvbug would read my thread...)

The other day, we went to Busch Gardens ( the one in Williamsburg (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Busch_Gardens_Williamsburg), not the one in Tampa Bay). Because it was a holiday weekend, the place was freaking packed, and we ended up parking in the auxialary parking...AKA the Scotland parking lot. Which was actually across the street from the park.

To get to the front gate of the park, we all lined up and boarded the open air tram...which of course had no seat belts.

What do you all do, when you go to theme parks and the parking is way far out? I might consider paying the extra 5-6 dollars for the premium parking--next time I go (this time, that lot was completely full), to avoid having to deal with the tram at all.

Later on, we rode the train around the park, it's open air as well. Whenever you go over a bridge, they say "and keep hold of the little ones".

Gah.

Sometimes, I wonder about myself.

(I rode the skyride too. I was so happy that danged thing was back up. Who cares about Griffon, I'm all about the transportation rides. lol)

I wouldn't be too worried in that situation...not really different than riding public transit, right?

I would not be worried about the train or the tram. We have to live at some point :p

we dont' worry about trams in parking lots, at all. we got to disney world about every 18 months or so and although we DON'T use buss transporation to and from the parks we do use the trams in the parking lots and the monirail and such.

Normally, I wouldn't be too worried. It was the part where we had to actually cross a highway to get to the park. Normally, we don't go on busy busy days, so the tram is just travelling across the parking area. This time, it was travelling across route 60, and while we were going extremely slow, the traffic wasn't. KWIM? (Well, when we crossed, it was stopped. I mean we weren't playing chicken with the tram or anything).

I kept thinking about what if someone didn't stop.
KWIM?

If the parking tram was bus-sized, then woe is the car that hits you...something like this would happen... http://wcco.com/topstories/local_story_137164831.html

This is awful! But the ont good thing about it, is that is shows me that buses are safer than I thought.
