Some people mentioned bumper stickers in the baby on board thread.

So who here has bumper stickers on their car? What do they say? :)

I really like reading bumper stickers, but don't have any of my own. I do have an alumni license plate frame that I got as a gift when I graduated college, but that's it.

I only have one right now, I did have several. I have the "warning: car seat technician" sticker on the Jeep. None of the Suburban, Cam says no. :p Party pooper, it's my car.... supposedly.

Before he put on the new bumber I had three. "Jesus was breastfed", "I do my best work in your back seat" and I think I had another "warning" sticker.

I don't have any bumper stickers but I do have a Texas Longhorns decal in the top, center of my rear window. I also usually put a bumper sticker (lower corner of my rear window) that supports a political canidate during local and US elections but it comes off as soon as they are over.

I have a magnet on our bumper essentially advertising our local usededmonton site. Mainly because I frequently list stuff on there and want others to find it, but also because it's a cool place like craigs list and most don't know about it. And it's free. :p

This is the first I've had in the 14yrs I've had a car though...lol.

No bumperstickers but I do have custom mudflaps that dh had made for me. They say this truck is driven by a redhead so back off! Most people know that by my handle anyways but I thought they were cute.

I have two silver window decals (my van is silver, so it works well and dh doesn't complain about it then :D ). I don't think I'm the only one with the decals I have. They are the RA-styled one that has "Child Passenger Safety Technician" rounded in a semi-circle from the bottom to over the top of the seat and the "8 out of 10 children are unsafe in the car - is yours one of them?" underneath a car. Shellebelle/poodleluvr (a tech) made them and I  them.

I have no bumper stickers, but on the bottom of the liftgate, I have a silver "Truth" fish (like the Christian fish symbol).

I also have the license plate frame (from skaterbabs, I think) "Don't mind me - I'm just checking out your seats! Child passenger Safety Technician"). That might not be the absolute exact quote, but very close ;).

Can I vote yes even though I only have the window decals? Oh...I actually took them off the van when DH started driving it... so all we have now is a turtle family in the side window (one turtle decal for each of us...cute!). I have a license plate frame...in the garage, haven't put it on yet.. and one day I swear I WILL stick my 'Boosters are for BIG Kids!' bumper sticker on my van...probably on the window, lol.

i voted yes, but NO STICKERS allowed on my paint.

but we do have stickers on our windows:

- apple computer sticker (white apple)
- "magpie" sticker (local store, also DD1's nickname)
- darwin fish plaque (like the christian fish but with feet to profess belief in evolution)
- "zoom-zoom" sticker (from mazda)

that's good... i can't stand seeing political election stickers from years ago... that and political candidate signs in people's front yards that stay up for weeks or months after the election... it's like, the election's OVER, can't you clean up your yard now?

yes but that's getting harder and harder to do since most bumpers are painted these days... at least on 99% of passenger cars, and maybe 80% of SUVs. so for those vehicles the windows are the only non-painted surfaces...

^^ Yep, I do that to.

DH doesn't on his vehicle though for fear of vandalism.

My car has been messed with once during a political election. It was the presidential race and someone had plastered my Toyota 4Runner with the opponents stickers. I was furious, because I never put anything on the paint of my car.

Thankfully I found it the next morning and all the stickers came off easily.

LOL!! No bumpers get "bumped" in our house. If they do then DH or I are in deep doodoo. I have had a car for over 10 years and have never bumped my bumpers on anything (thankfully, knock on wood...)

If that part of our vehicle is painted then NO stickers allowed.

I have seen people come in the carwash trying to spray off their bumper stickers (on the paint), and it is devistating to see what is under there. The pressure of the wand will get the sticker off, that's for sure, but it will also take um...other things with it.... :(

Hahaha! Someone would be dead if my bumper was bumped!!! But then again I am a freak who just CAN NOT park in a spot unless it is an endo (an end spot) and I hug that curb so tight. I have tried a few times when there was no spots available to park in between two cars and I just get soo nervous and something doesn't feel right inside of me...so I end up moving. I guess some people view their car as a tool and only a tool, and some people view their car as a beautiful expression of themselves that needs to be taken care of and pampered better then their children. :p

well i can see your point, but let's agree to disagree on that... as i see it, the painted bumper cover (the actual bumper which is desigend to absorb an impact is hidden behind it) is integrated with the body of the car and so it is an extension of the car's body. i've street parked my car exclusively for 11 months now and only have one penci-eraser sized nick in my back bumper cover, next to the license plate. people are not supposed to "bump" bumpers routinely.

yeah, i agree. to some, a car is strictly an appliance, for others it is an emotional extension of themselves. when i street park, i make sure i'm never in a spot where i can get locked in or the cars in front of me or behind me can get locked in. otherwise, there's a good chance they will scuff my bumpers as they try to get out. i actually had to have a "word" with my neighbor who "kissed" my car with hers. luckily she only hit the black bumper molding and didn't touch the paint. that's just disrespectful...

Devastating? Really? You're kidding, right?
My car is a 97. I've had a couple of stickers on it for a long while ( the AAA one, and a parking permit). I don't really think too much about what is under the stickers. I don't actually care. lol I'm thinking of getting a couple more (like one from Skater, and one spouting my political views. They'll go nicely with my "my child made the honor roll" sticker)

My grandfather...had a bumper sticker that read "Driven By an Old B(archaic term for a child born outside of marriage)"...Still makes me chuckle. At one point someone covered up the offending word with a piece of duct tape.

Well, I am pretty passionate about my car, so if what I see at the carwash happened to my bumper....I would NOT be a happy camper.

Considering that a new vehicle purchase is typically the second largest investment...er...purchase that a person makes, I would be devistated to see any kind of damage to it. ;) I take care of my investments and purchases very much. Not only does it help with resale value(and my budget), but it also looks appealing to me to see a nice well cared for vehicle. :)

if i didn't drive an almost brand new car, i also wouldn't care as much. but there is a certain pride i have in my posessions, and i treat them with care. as my cars get older, i lose my obsessive attitude toward them and become much more tolerant of blemishes. if i had a 97 and not an 06 (first new car, to boot!), i doubt i would care so much about the paint either. ;)

A car purchase is never an investment ;) :p

see below.

Although, I suppose there are some Classic cars that could be considered an investment...

yes, absolutely. and trust me, there is money to be made there. when i have enough savings, buying classic cars will be one form of investment for me. there are certain cars that only increase in value provided they are maintained in mint condition, rarely driven, and garaged. the added benefit is that you get to admire your investment (and take it out for an occasional spin) as opposed to just seeing the numbers grow on a bank statement.

and FWIW, my older sis bought a 1956 austin healey 100/6 in mint condition for $16,000, about 7 years ago. today it's worth well over $24,000. not the best investment, but not too shabby either. plus being able to lead the annual town parade = priceless. :)

No stickers now, but I've only had my new Jeep for less than a week.

I have a "Car Seat Tech" decal from shebelle (sp) saved for it and a "Mall Rated" decal that's SO cute. Unfortunately I can't put them on the back window because it's not glass, so they'll either go on my not-painted bumper OR next to the spare tire. Normally I wouldn't put anything on the paint, but it's leased so I don't care. I like the decal/small stickers and not the big rectangle stickers.

My old car only had the car seat tech license plate frame. No stickers.

Our TJ has a few stickers, but I don't care about them on there because somehow a older little 4x4 with big tires just looks cool with some stickers. DH found one that said, "Drive a hybrid- I need the gas" that he wants to get.

Darren- how about some car-seat.org decals????

I don't do bumper stickers on any of our cars, and we currently have a 1994 Sunbird that looks like it could have rolled off the lot 2 years ago, instead of 13! if you take care of your cars, they will take care of you, and last forever. Well, not FOREVER, but they'll last pretty long. I personally think bumper stickers are a little cheesy, but I have not missed the tempted feeling when I see a really cute one.

My sister had a bumper sticker on her 1985 Civic Wagon that said,
"I love cats... they taste like chicken!"
That was by far my favorite bumper sticker ever.

Over the past 5 years Ive aquired dents from bicycles, dents from wagons, dents from trashcans, dents from my butt, dents from other people's butts lol!, dents from ?I dont know where?. Ive got a dent where I accidentally cut my wheel too hard and hit the cement safety pole :ROTFLMAO: Ive got one from where I backed into a mailbox right after I got the car... I think drinking and driving is absolutely, unquestionably wrong, but I think the bumper sticker is funny. Only complete morons would take it as approval of drinking alcohol and driving. It's obviously (to me) a funny way to say, "don't drink and drive", period.

I lost high school classmates to drinking and driving. My mom lost her teeth, broke her nose and almost died due to a drunk driver. Before I met him, Mark was a stupid 21yo and hit a telephone pole while driving drunk, he's lucky to be alive. We don't even have ONE drink and get behind the wheel, even though we know we'd be perfectly legal to do so. It just doesn't feel right. It sends the wrong message to our daughter. So we don't do it. Still find the bumper sticker hilarious. :p

I usually don't have any stickers on my car except an annual parks pass on the front windshield. :) DH jokes about getting me Yosemite Sam stickers or mudflaps that say "Back off" because tail gaters are a huge peeve of mine.

I have two small ones on the back window. One is from college (Texas Tech) and the other is KLOVE, a Christian radio station. I put them on the window so they could be easily removed.

The only thing i have is my school parking thing. I hate it but i just keep it on the window not the paint. I would love to have a few but i just can not bring myself to put one on

I also like the liscence plate frame "i do my best work in the back seat" but my car has a little thing on it that hinds the top part of the frame and so noone would see the CPST. and i am not a tech yet. I hope to be soon

I know what you mean about the fram not showing. I can't have one on the back of the Suburban because you just can't read it.
