Radians US vs Can

I just want to check my information. The Canadian Radian, which is currently labelled to 48 lbs is the exact same seat as the US Radian 65. Correct?

From everything I have heard and from direct conversations with more than one person at SK, it is. The Canadian instruction manual comes with an important point regarding using the seat beyond 48lbs, which is that the seatbelt must be used to anchor it, not the LATCH...would be interested in hearing if anyone has heard that the CAN and US are different as I currently have a 50lb little guy sitting in a seatbelt anchored and tethered Canadian Radian.

I think you mean US manual lol, but yes, I have also been told they are the exact same seat and you definitely need to be using the seatbelt past 48lbs along with the top tether. Make sure you have also removed the Safestop as we only use that for BELOW 40lbs. Just FYI :)

No that's the funny thing - it said that in my Canadian manual. That's what made me smile...its like they know its good to use past 48lbs, and want those of us Canadians who plan to cheat and use it past the labelled weight to be safe and make sure its belted instead of latched past 48lbs. Thaks for the warning about the safestop too...I never got to use it as DS was already over 40lbs when we bought the Radian, but good point for others.

Ok, I think they screwed up changing the manuals. (global change or something, they must have been in a rush....) :rolleyes:
My new manual says to not use LATCH (well, UAS actually) "for a child over 65 lb". OOPS! I called Russ and left him a message... will do an email later on.

Also, was the max Canadian height always 51 inches? I thought it was 47 or 49 inches? It shows 51 in in mine.

AND, the Forward Facing Lap Belt Installation ends with "3. Kneel on restraint to force it into vehicle seat while pulling shoulder portion of seat belt to remove slack and tighten lap portion of the belt." Followed by "Confirm LATCH belt is tight and that connections to approved LATCH anchorss are secure. Removal: Press red release button on back of each LATCH connector..." (on page 25) (note use of LATCH vs UAS - copy and paste??)
