How scary.

A similar thing happened in our town...but the mom stopped her car from rolling backwards over an embankment (her son in the car) by using herself as a speed bump. She died saving her son.

that's not a honda feature, that's a federally mandated safety feature on newer (last 10-15 years) cars with automatic transmissions.

I have an Ody, and it never accured to me that (duh) that you needed your foot on the break. Hmmm... That puts things in a whole new light i guess.

I have a 98 Plymouth Breeze. I could take my car out of park without my foot on the break. About 3 years after I bought it I got a recall notice in the mail to take it in and have it fixed. I was told it's one of the most common recalls :(
You could even take it out of park if the key wasn't in the ignition.

What amazes me you can see the nice new fancy house, the new van and that poor little girl is riding in a backless booster.:eek: I leave my kids in their seats parked in front of the house all the time while I load up but that's because neither one of them can unbuckle themselves. I guess there's upsides to having a lazy kid.
