So how many strollers have you owned? :D
oxeye
05-14-2007, 01:55 PM
I've had 7, but I'm predicting this is below average around here. :D
I've had and sold a Baby Trend cheap single stroller, a Baby Trend single jogger, a Snap N Go, a Graco Duoglider, and a Baby Trend Sit N Stand.
Right now I have 2 - a Maclaren Triumph with Buggy Board attachment and the Ditto Manhattan (that I actually won't get until tomorrow but I'm still counting it!).

I don't actually remember, but I did go with over 15 since it's 'have you owned' and not 'own now' :D...it HAS been at least 15, but for 3 kids over 10 years, is that too bad?

Good point Tina!! Well...we aren't *trying* to have anymore kids, but who knows what the future holds...
All I can say is this: If I *did* get pregnant I would be buying MUCH different baby products this time 'round. Hmm...I'm thinking Cloth Diapering, Chicco Infant seat, Some cool infant stroller, more babywearing slings. I think you get the idea LOL!!

This made me laugh! :) I've owned the same number of car seats as I've owned strollers. Once I get the Regent, the car seats will outnumber the strollers.

See you're smart - you started with a good one! I should have gone with a P3 from the beginning. Then I just would have needed a good double and a good single and double jogger and I would have been set. :) If I just had one kid I would have been thrilled with just a P3 and a single jogger.

I had never counted until now. I too know I will be below the norm that is for sure.
I have had 8 strollers.
Graco Lite Rider travel system stroller
Graco Snap n Go
Graco Duo Glider
Sit n Stand
cheap umbrella stroller from BRU
Baby Trend light weight type of stroller (can't remember the name but it's in the attic and hasn't been used in years)
Baby Trend Euro Sport that we still use from time to time
Peg Perego Plikomatic (older verison of the P3)
OMG!!! I totally forgot my jogging stroller so it's 9 I have had (opps I messed up the poll). I had a Safety 1st single jogger.

I have had 4, and Jenna isn't even 2 yet. I have had:
1. Graco Quattro Tour
2. Combi Umbrella-(I don't know the technical name)
3. Cheapo Umbrella from Zellers (returned-cause it sucked!)
4. OLD bike trailer from Once Upon a Child (I've never even used it)
My wish list includes a P3, for baby #2, and a Maclaren Twin Techno when we have baby #2. I am thinking of selling our Quattro Tour cause our Combi is the only one I use anyway.

We presently own 5... a Maclaren Techno XT, a Peg Perego Venezia and 2 umbrella strollers - 1 for dh's mom, the other for mine, and a Graco something or other at dh's mom's as well.
In the past... umm... I used to buy umbrella strollers at yard sales for the kids I babysat. I used to store them outside, and they got trashed pretty quickly. Atleast 3-4... And then, I bought ds1 a new Graco Metrolite something or other at birth. And a Baby Trend something or other a few months later. And then some weird reclining umbrella stroller. And then I picked an Evenflo something off the curb - good shape, too.
That's 13.
I had a Graco Duoglider for a brief time. And a Graco side by side as well.
15.
The brand isn't coming to me, but there was another trash picked one. So 16 total, that I can remember.
Yes, I trash pick. Not dumpster dive, trash pick. I'm not ashamed of it either.
Ah ha! We bought a Fisher Price florescent colored something or other at a yard sale while visiting my auntie. That's what it was. Holy Cow, that sucker was bright. But $2, what a deal. It would be the perfect disneyland stroller.

No, not yet, but we are planning on trying next summer. I can't wait. I am getting baby fever SOOOO bad! I wanted to try this summer, but between moving to Sk, and building a house, I don't want the added stress of pregnancy hormones. While I am not a meany when I am pregnant, I was very emotional, I cried at everything. Drove my dh nuts!:p

Current stroller fleet:
Mac Quest (stashed in my van)
Graco Mosaic (stashed in DH's car)
Jeep Liberty Urban Terrain (in garage, used mostly for neighborhood walks)
Chicco Caddy (for plane travel/gate checking) I think it's a Caddy at any rate. It says "Capri" on the footrest and box, but it looks exactly like the Caddy on Chicco's website  It bought it from Right Start through Amazon where it was listed as a Caddy for $30 a few weeks ago.
2 freebie umbrella strollers from TRU/BRU mostly used by DD1 to play with her dolls :)
at Grandma's- old Evenflo Featherlite
Past strollers:
Baby Trend Snap 'N Go
bulky Evenflo travel system model that came with an On My Way infant seat before I knew the pitfalls of travel systems.

I'm with you, we only have one as well, although I never use it. I got Dh a BOB revolution for Father's Day last year. He takes DD jogging with it sometimes (his goal was every night, lol, like that'll ever happen). I've used it... maybe a dozen times total in the past year. I actually bought the Graco on clearance at Kmart for $35 (SCORE!)when dd1 was only 8 months old and still an only child! I believed in planning ahead! If we ever have another, I will probably get a Mac something or other...
One kid, about ten strollers. I'm addicted to the too. He is 14 and I still have a stroller, just in case I babysit, a Quattro Tour.

My DH didn't like the P3 either. He has a long stride and he stepped on every stroller we looked at besides the Graco Quattro. That is our current single. We also have a Graco Duo (got it for $35 and it was only used 2x).
We have also owned:
Kolcraft single (mil borrowed and we never got it back, it was used for my nephew)
Graco single (came as a travel system, DH ran it over, forgot it was in front of his truck)
Graco Duo (used for older 2 kids, destroyed when we lived on a farm)

5...
One used Graco that someone gave me(its now at the IL's)
One Instep jogging stroller that I bought at a yard sale for 50.00(sold it)
One middle of the road umbrella at my baby shower(still have it and use it for airport etc)
One Jeep double stroller that I bought for 70.00-it sucked sooooo soooo bad I used it maybe twice and then sold it. Really I don;t need a double since our town is so hilly its almost impossible to push a single up
Our current stroller and one I use with DS every day Quinny 4XL. I need it for those big tires to get DS to daycare in the winter.
I want a Quinny Zapp to use in place of the XL for everyday in the spring/summer and so I can maybe get throught the door at our local stores.
DH is still vetoing it brand new and alas our local Craiglist is not a hotbed of great stroller's . Anyone have one they want to sell me I am all over it.
If money was no object I would get a Phil and Ted's E3... I gave it a push at a local store and it was nice. But I sort of think that spending that much on a stroller when our youngest is 18 months and DS is 3 and half that I would not get that much use out if it.
I'm have more of a babywearer.:o addiction then a stroller.

2: Graco Travel System Stroller from 98/99 and a Mac Quest. What a huge difference :)

07-28-2007, 12:15 PM
My first stroller was the Graco Chauffer Coach Rider...which weighed more than I do. I realy liked it, though.
When ds was born, I bought a Sit n Stand LX and the matching Latch-loc car seat. They were a great combo for a while.
Then I had a couple major abdominal surgeries, and I needed something lightweight, so my mom bought me the Combi Savvy last summer.
Well, one year later and it's already falling apart.
I keep hoping to find a good, sturdy (aka Maclaren, Inglesina, etc) lightweight stroller for a great price...but it hasn't happened yet. I don't want another piece of junk, as ds is 3 and will only need a stroller for another year or so. I want my next stroller to be my last stroller ;)

I've had 14.....
my first stroller was an Avalon from Zellers that I used
with the baby I nannied.
Then for DD#1 I had:
Baby Trend Eurotrend Touring SL
Combi Conveinance (present from Grandpa)
Silver Cross Micro in Pink (present from Daddy)
Silver Cross Micro in Ascot (to replace the pink because of a bum wheel)
Cosatto Dixie (bought for airline travel)
Maclaren Opus in Bali Blue (which UPS killed)
Maclaren Opus in Bali Spice (DH bought to replace above, he's so sweet:))
For DD#2:
Safety First Carry n Stroll (car seat carrier, piece of junk)
Graco Snugrider (to replace above)
Eddie Bauer Tandem Transit (double)
Bugaboo Cameleon (got fed up with owning so-so strollers and I was given some $$ to spend on myself so I bought the best stroller I could find, lol)
Maclaren Vogue (my Mom found at Target for $50!)
and I traded it for a Peg Perego P3 (which is my work horse)
I only use the Bugaboo and the P3...all the others were either
donated, sold, or given away except for the broken micro and
the opus in Bali Spice which are sitting in my MIL's basement gathering dust:o.

Mountain Buggy Urban Single (used for walks in the neighborhood)
Mac Quest (currently in my car)
BumbleRide Flyer (the ILs current stroller)
BOB Revo 12" AW (sold it, didn't like the thin tires and wheels all the same size)
Uppa Baby G-Lite (currently in DH's car)
