Ok, that sounds bad for how long I've been on this board. But anyways while I was stuck in traffic today, the old station wagon next to me had a RF Britax, which I assumed to be a Marathon, in the backseat. And from what I could see, everything looked right. The straps were tight, the angle looked good, and it seemed to look secure. It was so nice to see a good seat used properly :D !

The only 2 times I have seen a britax seat here in real life besides mine were also in old cars also. Both cars where probably 80s models.

I DO see MA's more often these days (was behind a Cowmoofloge today!) but the other day I parked at HEB and was next to a HUSKY! When I came out, on the other side of me was a RADIAN!! I did a double take and had to peek in the window to be sure. Who knows what people thought I was doing  .

broken4u05, We've only have 2 Britax retailers in Saskatchewan right now, and they've only been a retailer for about 6 months, so Britax's haven't really caught on yet. Maybe I'll start seeing more now that we've got a place to buy them.

I used to NEVER see Britax seats in my town, but in the last couple months I've seen 3 or 4, and 2 of those were Cowmoo Marathons! :p We live in a dairy-farming community, so it's not so surprising that the Cowmoo MAs would be the first Britax to really catch on here. :) But we're a really small, rural, poor area, so seeing Britax really excites me. The only stores within 1.5-2 hours that carry carseats literally only carry ONE infant seat, ONE combination seat, ONE highback booster and ONE backless booster. No convertible seats at all. Oh, and every one of them is a Graco (SnugRide, CarGo, Turbo). I guess they think kids can go straight from the SnugRide to the forward-facing CarGo. :(

I've never seen one IRL either. Supposedly the BRU closest to me has them. It's over an hour away though. I hope they actually do have them in stock so I can play with them before I buy from somewhere else.

I'm always perplexed when I peek in the windows of 40,000 dollar brandy new cars and see ancient, expired seats improperly installed

I was wondering the same thing. We were in southwest TX for a while.....in Laredo. I hardly ever saw carseat actually installed in cars.....and most certainly never a britax!
I see them not often, but it isn't really rare. One day I was walking down Main St. and I saw a van door open and inside were TWO Regents! I was SOOO excited! I had only seen one Husky before that.
MA seem to be pretty popular here. Used correctly? No idea since I always see them empty.
Oh, I have to say the most excited I got was when I saw a Recaro Young Sport! It was just a brief sighting, but I was so excited I walked into a telephone pole. hehehe

Jennsmile, I am in Austin. Depending upon where you are driving or more so where you are parked you can see a variety of seats. HEB is NOT where I usually see 'high end' seats.
CMM7, that is too funny! I 'think' I saw one in the parking lot of dd's pre-school but not sure. I'd love to figure out a way to know whether I was right and get to take a 'real' look at it. (Maybe have dd sit in it too!)
One thing that puzzles me is how often I will be talking to someone and when I refer to the name of their child's seat they often don't even know that's what it is. IE 'I see you have the kids in matching Marathons.' 'What's?'

I'm sick too, but mine is asthma. I am coughing so much that I am sure I am bruising internal structures. :)

LOL Same here. I guess after spending all that money on the car, they can't afford good seats.

Sorry you are sick, but I'm glad I could make you laugh! :) Today is actually the first day I've gone without a nap since last Thursday. I've been pretty sick with a nasty cold that wouldn't go away.
And, mamato2, I know what you mean. S and Z's family gave me the funniest look when I asked where they stored their Nania Airways (in case I ever needed one for whatever reason). They had no idea what I was talking about.

Definately depends on the area of town.. up where I am (Georgetown), our grocery store options are limited (we have HEB, Wal-Mart, and another HEB within a 15 mile radius - I wish I was kidding) so I do see other Britax seats all the time. However, I also often see people riding with unrestrained children.. once I was at the HEB on I-35 in georgetown, saw a family of 5 that had an obviously too big baby riding around in a snugride in the store, then they went out to their truck (single cab) and all 5 piled in there, and they just tossed the infant seat in the back  I wanted to say something, but I'm not even sure they spoke english - or would have cared
Nearly every day I'll see someone driving around with a CR unoccupied while their small child bounces around the back.. they all seem to be of a certain demographic though

I hope you get to see one soon. As long as you don't have to get stuck in traffic on Albert ;) . On the topic of Albert street, the last time I was in Regina I saw a guy make a left turn and turn into the far lane (like you aren't supposed to) and then made a lane change into the lane he should have turned into! The sad thing is that I know the guy who did it (and he's a gov't employee). Well thats enough horrible Saskatchewan traffic stories for one night.

Well the cover pic doesn't look as bad as our highway's (219). I should make a calendar about our highway. It comes complete with a nice construction zone in the good area of the highway  .

LOL! I had to go around a pothole in Winnipeg the other day that would swallow a car! It was HUGE! I guess that is what we get for living where it snows and is sooooo cold  Now the dirt roads are nasty for potholes, we drove on one last sunday and came out with a camoflage car  The only thing that wasn't covered in mud was the back window; needless to say we headed straight for the carwash, I have never seen a car that dirty before. DS didn't like it he cried, held my hand and said he didn't want to go "off roadin'" he wanted to go home.
I have never seen a britax. I've never seen a CLEAN car seat whose straps were not twisted to heck and back. I have never even seen a rear facing convertible. I suspect everyone around here uses the bucket till their kid's knees bend over the edge and then put them forward facing in a cheapo convertible and feed them all their meals in the car and never clean the seat or untwist the straps. And "installation" is a foreiign concept. I've actually looked and never seen a seat that was tethered either. And I see people all the time putting kids just in the car or maybe in the seat belt when they are obviously too young/small to do so.
I have gotten some strange looks from people when I put my 2 yo rear facing. Someone at the library once snotted at me that I needed to turn the seat around and "read the manual already." as she put her 2yo in a bpb.

Poor kid. Off roading is so fun. Last year I had a bee yard that had a mud hole on the way in that never seemed to dry out  , so I had to wash my truck every week from all the mud. When it would rain I would get the underside of my truck nice and clean from all the water in the potholes, only to have to drive through the mud hole again  . At least you can go around all of your potholes. We've got some that are unavoidable (only 5ft on each side of the road is drivable), and I'm scared to take anything smaller than a 1/2 ton down our road. Last year some smaller cars took out their oil pans on our road  ! The fun of living in Saskatchewan.
