I *need* more smilies.
Yes, we have some cute ones, but they don't express all of my emotions.
Can we add more?
Mothering has some great smilies.

I'd love to have the yeah that and maybe the two thumbs up and the soapbox. I could see a lot of us up on our soap boxes quite regularly.
Any chance we could add some smilies? Please?

I agree!! :)
The "yeah that" is good. I also like:
~ irked
~ thumbs up
~ double thumbs up
~ hug
~ group hug
~ duh
~ help

ooh, i like the one where the smiley is hitting his head.
I feel like that a lot here.
No, No boosters with LATCH. NONE. (Except the Indy Plus!)
I also like the one that's bowing down. I bow down to jools, she is the ultimate queen of carseats. scatterbunny is close 2nd.

I will look into adding smilies. I suspect it is pretty easy once I get around to it. If you would like to post any additional smilies you want here (the actual smiley and not a link), that would save me a lot of time and I will see if I can add some in the near future.

the ones i linked to are on my own server space, and they are public domain icons. feel free to download them. otherwise i can upload them into a post (but i don't see what the difference on your end would be?).

I like the new smilies :2thumbsup: A bit ago I'd started a thread in the Coffee Break area with some vehicle safety related ones that would be great to add if possible -- I'll search for the thread.... (If I don't edit it in immediately it's because I didn't find it before Leila's new sitter shows up for me to got to class, LOL)

I'm glad you guys like them.
Now I was wondering if there was a way that I could hide them so that when I'm typing a post or a reply that I don't see them, because they are distracting and make me a little nauseated.
(Yes, I'm being completely serious).
But it is nice to see the rolling smiley again. lol
I'd like to have new ones for the post Icons though. Like for a infant seat question, a teenty tiny infant seat. That sort of thing.

Try this-
If you use the Quick Reply button, then also click the "Go Advanced" button. You can also just use the "Post Reply" button to access the full editor. In the next area (Additional Options) under where you type your reply, you will find a "Disable smilies in text" option to check. If you do this, your text will not be replaced by the corresponding smiley. I have not seen a user option to turn off seeing other people's smileys.

It's not the ones that are in the posts. By themselves, it's okay. It's the ones that appear in the little box beside the post editor. All of them together moving is what bothers me. But I guess I can make my window smaller and just move it to the right, so that they are off the screen.

maybe change to a different edited thing... whatever its called. It also causes the page to load slowly on dialup(which I use at work).

not sure about this bulletin board software, but some BB software let you customize which emoticons you want to appear in the main window.
anyway, thanks to the admin for adding them!!! :)

In your User CP control panel "Edit Options" link, "Miscellaneous Options" area, you can select the basic, standard or enhanced text editor. I think the smiley box goes away if you choose the basic editor, but you probably lose some other functions too.

you are right, i just went in and switched from "standard" editor to "basic". the emoticons go away, but so do all the formatting options... essentially a blank text box.

tough luck Simply ;) once I know all the codes Ill be using them all the time :shrug-shoulders: :evil grin:
Hmmm well maybe not, some have really long names like happy-wavehello and shrug-shoulders
since it doesnt matter if the code is really descriptive maybe you could shorten the names to like shrug, rave, rant, ect...
though dont want to make it any more work that it has been! Im glad to have more options!

I'm curious about how to do that. There is one smiley I love on MoparChat that goes by :pile or :Pile. . .
I'm liking all the new ones :)
