I have a good friend who is going to buy a friend of hers a carseat for her 3 year old because his carseat is expired. His mom never buckles him properly, she only buckles the chest clip and nothing anyone does or says gets her to change anything, so I suggest my friend buy an OHS so that she MUST buckle the part between his legs or the bar would go up!

I think this is one situation where an OHS is preferred. I didn't have time to check in here, but do you think I did the right thing?

Definitely -- it can be very fool proof with people who refuse to do it the right way ... not as easy for some people who medically cannot, though....

I bought an OHS for my one year old nephew, because his parents had put him in a shield booster the week before his first birthday. They got in a wreck a few days later. The OHS did it's thing, and they learned their lesson and went back to a five point when then saw the bruises and such that he got from the shield!

Yes, I think you absolutely did the right thing in that situation. :)
