honda teather

I read on another thread that the Honda teather only goes up to 40 pounds.....is this for all Honda's? What do you do after 40lbs?? Does that mean you have to use the seat belt?? I have a 2005 Honda Civic.

You must install carseat with seatbelt after child reaches 40# but continue using the top tether > http://www.saferidenews.com/html/LATCH_P8.htm / http://www.saferidenews.com/html/LATCH_P49.htm (even if the top tether fails in a crash it will provide some measure of increased safety -- installation depends on having less than 1" movement at the belt path, not at the tether ;))
