‘17 Equinox— middle position, lower anchor borrowing?

Hard to believe I’m back here after joining in 2008! But expecting again and have a question about the lower anchors in our 2017 Chevy Equinox. Do they allow you to borrow the anchors from the outboard position for the middle? Or in the middle position seat belt only? The manual for the car is unclear, it doesn’t not state lower anchor use for outboard positions only nor does it mention being allowed to use them in the middle position.

Thanks!

Hi!
Chevy does not allow "borrowing" lower anchors in non-designated seating positions. As you note, the manual doesn't state they can be used center; when that's the case and nothing is said about the spacing and being able to use them if allowed by the car seat manufacturer, you should always assume it's not allowed. Most manufacturers only mention the lower anchor use in positions they explicitly allow. No retroactive changes have been made by Chevy, so the center seating position may only use seatbelt (and tether anchor, where applicable.)
Hope that helps!

Wow, a “familiar face” 😁 This what I figured but I wanted to be sure. Thanks for the response!
